The book was prepared by the Yekaterinburg branch of the Imperial Orthodox Palestine Society and is dedicated to the beauty of the Ural churches, the harmony and organicity with which they fit into the charming, but sometimes cold Ural landscape: be it forests, mountains, hills, steppes, small villages, huge megalopolises or industrial panoramas. Geographically, the album covers seven Ural metropolitanates: Yekaterinburg, Perm, Chelyabinsk, Bashkortostan, Orenburg, Kurgan and Tobolsk. When choosing illustrations, preference was given to lesser-known churches, sometimes remaining in a dilapidated state. The authors hope that this album will help attract due attention to this circumstance, since it is unworthy of architectural dominants to remain in a neglected state.
