The monograph is a complex research of creative work of one of the first-rate Russian poets G.R.Derzhavin in the context of the development of Russian artistic and intellectual culture of his time. The book dwells on the origins of formation of the author’s consciousness of Derzhavin in terms of Russian and European literary tradition of the early modern period, offers review of his philosophic and aesthetic interests, and estimated the influence of his creative work upon the development of Russian culture on the edge of the XVIIIth – the XIXth centuries.
