Vasily Nikolaevich Tyapinsky (Tsyapinsky-Omelyanovich) was born in the village of Tyapino, came from a small gentry environment. He considered the purpose of his life to be caring for the education of the people and the dissemination of "the word of God among the Russian people" in a language they understood. Scientists assume that he acquired the skills he needed in book printing as an associate of S. Budny, one of the famous Belarusian printers.
