The presented monograph is about German grammarians of the XIXth century and their role in the development of the tradition of German linguistics and linguodidactics. Using the example of well-known and practically unfamiliar authors, an attempt is made to recreate not only the linguistic and linguodidactic thought of the 19th century, but also the historical, scholarly and cultural paradigm of that time.
