The monograph "Game traditions in the spiritual culture of East Asia (China, Korea, Japan)" describes and analyzes game traditions and ancient amusements of China, Korea, and Japan in historical, ethnographical, typological, ethnico-linguistic, and culturological aspects. The work emphasizes the close association between the game traditions of these countries in the context of specific features of the historical and cultural development of East Asian countries. Since the game practice is intimately related to different aspects of the domestic and written culture of traditional societies, ancient amusements are considered not only in the context of classical Chinese, Korean, and Japanese literature, but also within the studies of such a phenomenon of the traditional culture of all East Asian countries as game behavior and intellectual rivalry.
