The book called Fulianka, as its title suggests, brings information about a little-known village in the heart of the Saris region. Although the content focuses on the history of the village, it goes beyond its title. The book provides information not only about the village, but also about the wider surroundings with an overlap to the realities of the whole country. The first part deals with the prehistoric history of the centre of Saris, which is based on the findings of all the archaeological investigations carried out so far. The medieval and modern history is treated in the same detail using sources not only from Slovak but also from foreign archives, including the archives of the Kapi family, which owned Fulianka. Cultural transformations are outlined in the chapter on modern history, which was as turbulent as the previous ones. The content of the book is rounded off by chapters on religious life in the village, as well as on various customs and traditions that were part of the life of our ancestors not only in Fulianka, but also in the whole of Saris. The view of the village and the region is complemented by two local legends and a rich pictorial appendix.
