The main aim of the current study is research of small area in North Estonia, situated between the villages of Vihasoo and Palmse in the Kadrina parish. The study was initially started in 1993 as a side project of the investigations in Ravala, North-West Estonia. However, during inventories and excavations it became evident that the area between two villages had many peculiarities in its history and deserves a completely separate treatment.
