Based on extensive archival data the monograph sheds light upon social and economic processes in the Russian village of the 1980s. Basic trends of food program realization are studied in detail. The emphasis is put on revelation of oppositions and lack of balance between economic and social spheres as well as unpractical and at times dilettante management of agrarian-industrial complex in Russia.
