This book continues a series of studies about the life and work of the commanders of the Black Sea Fleet of the post-war era. Unfortunately, most of them left no memories due to a number of circumstances. The specifics of the service did not allow the accumulation of significant arrays of documents that disclose both the content of the service at that time, many remarkable pages of the activities of the Navy of the USSR, as well as detailed biographical data, personality characteristics of the heroes of the story. The Fleet Command series of books largely fills this gap. We are faced with a picture of the solution of the global state problem - the country's Navy entering the World Ocean.
The glorious constellation of military leaders and naval commanders of the Cold War era includes Admiral Serafim Evgenievich Chursin, who devoted almost a quarter century to the Black Sea Fleet. In subsequent years, he did not part with the fleet and its people. This is what the book written by Admiral I.V. The Kasatonovs, who were actively helped by his son Kirill Igorevich, who became the co-author of this study. The book will surely attract the attention of not only historians of the fleet and acting sailors, but also of Sevastopol residents, who preserve the memory of Seraphim Evgenievich Chursin.
