Evolution of the Ural mining family during two centuries of its history is traced on basis of extensive source materials, both archival and published. The book describes the main demographical processes amidst mining population: fertility, mortality, and morbidity, observes development of family traditions, in particular wedding, maternity-baptismal and funeral rites, traces origin and development of such typical for industrial society demographical phenomena, as occupational morbidity at mining plants, male supermortality and sexes' disproportion caused by it.
