The monograph is devoted to the understanding of ethno-confessional identity as a complex of ethnic and confessional properties of individuals and groups as a basis not only for social identification, but also for civil self-organization. Ethnocultural and religious organizations are viewed as legitimate, active institutions of civil society, subjectifying the interests of the respective communities in the system of socio-political relations. The author's considerations are presented regarding the ethno-confessional association of citizens, which largely determines the own characteristics of the national Russian model of civil society.
