A brief summary of the material on how the country was captured in 1940. The text is unique in that it was written in 1990, when Estonia had not yet formally restored its independence, but some of the authors were still alive and directly involved in the events of that time. It is known that the cheapest and most reliable way to capture a country is to use ideology, diplomacy, pressure and propaganda. This method of action is still used today. It has only slightly adapted and transformed to suit circumstances and opportunities.
