The yearbook provides data on territory, environment, population, education, culture, health, social protection, crime, household income and exependiture, emploument, wages and salaries, land stock, agriculture, industry, housing, transport, communications, tourism, trade, local budgets, etc. for 2000 (some economic indicators for 1999). Statistics are mainly presented by counties. In most topics the data on Taalinn have been presented separately under Harju county. Economic statisticsare provided by life regions, the data on population by towns and rural municipalities. Comparisons are drawn with previous years. The information is presented in overviews of the topics by regional aspect, which also include short descriptions of the methodology, as well as in diagrams providing comparisons of regions and in tables including data on regions.
