On the material of the lexicon of the Slavic languages: Russian and Slovak languages with the involvement of the facts of the Czech language - the main dynamic phenomena in the field of vocabulary are demonstrated: general trends in the lexical changes at the turn of the 20th and 21st centuries. The vectors of the semantic development of vocabulary, dynamic processes in the field of phraseology , word-formation innovations. The processes of borrowing, archaizing and aktualization of vocabulary, activation of semantic derivation, expansion of emotionally-valued components of meanings, phraseological transformations, intertextuality, universalization and composing, verbal word creation, which are subordinate to the general processes of democratization and expression of the lexicons of the languages in question are considered. The role of the media and the Internet, the influence of the English language and general globalization tendencies in lexical dynamics in different Slavic languages are emphasized, the convergent nature of their development and national specificity are established.
