The study of Dostoevsky is one of the most developed areas of not only Russian, but also world philology. After more than a century of studying the primary sources of the writer’s texts, it may seem that their history, canonized in two editions of the academic Complete Works and set out in the works of several scientific schools, will not undergo significant changes. However, the book by Pyotr Druzhinin shows that even under these conditions it is possible not only to supplement Dostoevsky’s biography with numerous pieces of information on the history of the publications of his works, but also to discover several previously unknown sources of Dostoevsky’s texts.
