Children in Auschwitz: is the darkest spot in a dark story. They were deported with their parents to Auschwitz or born there, under unimaginable circumstances. Few survived. For the rest of their lives they bear the marks of pain, on their body and soul. They grow up with the number of prisoners who have indelibly marked their hand or thigh. Auschwitz is always here. After their release, some of them did not know their name, age or origin. Almost everything was orphaned. For a long time they no longer trusted anyone, they kept their strength, they were full of fear. How to live after Auschwitz? For decades, Alvin Meyer sought, with great patience, to find the children of Auschwitz, spoke to them empathetically, and won their trust. Some of them spoke for the first time about life in the camp, about their childhood, where death was always present but never natural.
