This monograph examines the main tendencies in the distortion of key issues in the history of Armenia, Caucasian Albania, and modern Azerbaijan in Azerbaijani historiography, as well as the origins and early history of the Azerbaijani people and their statehood. This historical-critical study draws on material and written sources (Greco-Roman, Armenian, Georgian, Arabic, and Syriac), as well as scholarly literature. Beyond its purely scholarly interest, the topic has practical application, given the Azerbaijani authorities' policy of distorting the history and culture of the indigenous peoples of the South Caucasus, particularly following the latest act of Azerbaijani aggression against the indigenous Armenian population of Artsakh on September 19, 2023. This makes the work and the issues it addresses even more relevant. It is also worth recalling the incidents involving a group of Udis in Gandzasar, Amaras, Dadivank, Togh, Hadrut, Tsitsernavank, the Cathedral of St. Christ the Savior - Ghazanchetsots in Shushi, in the village of Talish and the village of Mataghis in the Mardakert region of the NKR, in the Church of the Holy Cross on Akhtamar Island in Western Armenia, etc.
