The monograph gives theoretical and empiric results of investigations conducted by scientists of Russia, the USA, Bulgaria, Ukraine and Lithuania. Particular attention is paid to the analysis of Gallup polls held in the former USSR starting from 1996. A separate part of the book is dedicated to the description of issues that really alarmed post-communist countries. The main peculiarity of all investigations is the unity of methodological and methodical approaches that facilitated the process of comparing the received results.
