This is the first book of two volumes that provides an immersion in the thoughts and worldview of Dmitriy Kononovich Sivtsev-Suorun Omollon (1906-2005). The main body of
this book contains a reprint and translation of his monograph titled “We are all Children of One Mother”. The book also includes a reprint and translation of an article by the first President of the Sakha Republic (Yakutia) M. E. Nikolaev about D. K. Sivtsev-Suorun Omollon. The languages are arranged in
parallel columns with the Russian and English versions sideby-side. So, the book can be used as a tool for the study of one
language in relation to the other. The reprints are translated into the English language from the Russian language. Inversely, the editor’s material is translated from the English language into the Russian language. The editor’s material includes notes about various people and events to which the reprinted texts refer. Furthermore, the book includes an analysis of the process of translation as well as some questions about the text and some
translation exercises.
