The book is dedicated to the 140th anniversary of the glorious, sacred event for us - the stoic defense of the recently announced Unification of the fragmented young Bulgarian state. The book is one of the few attempts to convey the historical truth about the treacherous Serbo-Bulgarian War in a reliable documentary form.
After the introduction to the events and the background of the war, the author traces the chronology of the fighting from the two-week armed conflict by day. In the next section, detailed portraits of the dozen of our senior military leaders, most of them captains, who led the Bulgarian army in the victorious battles are made. The mass heroism of the poorly armed and undertrained Bulgarian people is presented. Further in the book, "For Honor!" in front of those who fell for the victory, and after a brief assessment of our dear losses, line sketches of our 13 officers who bravely died in the fighting are drawn. The last part examines how grateful Bulgarian generations preserve the memory of this war and honor the feat of their ancestors.
