In the book “Confession of a black sheep” the outstanding Russian scientist and writer A.A. Zinoviev (1922-2006) tells about his life and fate in the context of such historical events as: collectivization, years of study in Moscow, meeting with the Lubyanka and escape from it, the war, student and academic life in the post-war years, including the forced emigration from the Soviet Union and return to the homeland. However, the book gives a deep sociological analysis of the Soviet and post-Soviet reality, as well as the phenomenon that the author calls «zapadnizm».
