The hero of the first historical novel by Y.N.Tinyanov is V.Kiukhel’beker, a lycee friend of Pushkin, a poet and Decembrist. This volume casts light on the whole life of Kiukhli, but a special attention is drawn to the chapters, dedicated to the rebellion on the Senate square. The second volume “The death of Vazir-Mukhtar” describes the last year of A.S.Griboedov’s life. The tragic death of the author of a brilliant play “Woe from Wit”, took place in Persia, where he was sent as an ambassador. The book also contains “Autobiography” written by Y.N.Tinyanov and his answer to the diary “How We Write”. The third unfinished volume is dedicated to the childhood, adolescence and youth of one of the greatest Russian poets A.S.Pushkin.
