The hero of the first historical novel by Y.N.Tinyanov is V.Kiukhel’beker, a lycee friend of Pushkin, a poet and Decembrist. This volume casts light on the whole life of Kiukhli, but a special attention is drawn to the chapters, dedicated to the rebellion on the Senate square.
