The collection contains works by V. Stus, contemporary Ukrainian poet and journalist, one of the most active members of Ukrainian dissident movement. Because of the political views of the author, the works were banned by the Soviet regime and he spent 23 years in detention. On November 26, 2005 he was posthumously given the title Hero of Ukraine by order of the state. The first volume includes poems, written in 1950s - 1960s.
