Zurab Abashidze - Doctor of Political Sciences. In 1978-1980 he worked in the Consulate General of the Soviet Union in India (Mumbai), and in 1984-1988 - in the Embassy of the Soviet Union in Spain. In 1993-2000, he was the ambassador of Georgia to the Benelux countries, the head of diplomatic missions to NATO and the European Union, and in 2000-2004, he was the ambassador to the Russian Federation. Since 2012, he has been a special representative of the Prime Minister of Georgia to the Russian Federation.
