During the war a new prisoner, the boy Sashko, finds himself in a Russian infiltration camp near the border with Ukraine. He does not hide his pro-Ukrainian position, for which he is constantly imprisoned. In the camp Sashko meets a group of elder children and teenagers who have created a secret organization - the "Club of Lovers of the Ukrainian Language", and are developing a plan to escape from the Russian occupiers in order to return to Ukraine. The plan, implemented with the help of the Ukrainian scouts, succeeds. Ten years later all participants of past events meet again.
