Citizenship as an attribute of a sovereign state - this is the central idea of the proposed monograph. The author aims at comprehensive revealing the concept of citizenship and give a detailed description of citizenship of the Republic of Lithuania in the period from 1918 till nowadays. He tries to interpret different years' Law on the Lithuanian citizenship in view of citizenship as not just an ordinary legal link between the person and the state but a permanent, constant in space and time, effective link meaning a person's belonging to a state.
