The collection includes musical and poetic texts of 121 samples of the winter ritual calendar (69 carols and 52 schedrivkas), recorded in 49 settlements (former kurens) of the historical Black Sea region - the steppe part of the modern Krasnodar Territory of the Russian Federation, which was settled and economically and culturally developed by former Zaporozhian Cossacks and Ukrainian landless peasants from 1792.
