The book is the product of Dr. G. Vladimirov's long-term research on the history and culture of the Bulgarians from their settlement in the lands of the Middle Volga in the 8th century until the destruction of their cultural model in the second half of the 16th century. Based on written sources, archaeological, ethnographic and anthropological data, the publication traces the political and economic history, lifestyle, material and spiritual culture of the population of Volga Bulgaria, the Golden Horde and the Kazan Khanate.
