The book includes the papers from a working scientific conference which marked the 20th anniversary of the establishment of the Bulgaricum Center for the Study of the Bulgarian Language and Culture at Saarland University in Saarbruecken, the capital of the German state of Saarland. In addition to the papers from the conference, the book also presents a number of other activities at the Bulgaricum Center. The Center, as well as the present compilation, is the result of cooperation between Saarland University and Bulgaria's Sofia University.
