This book is a collection of small stories about a fictional (albeit with a historical name) character of the 17th century - one of the first Russian settlers in the Urals. According to the Uralian tradition, the author called it “tales”. Bogdashka Toporok is a real historical character, the most distant Ural ancestor, whom Bakov was able to trace in his genealogical research. The name of the hero was given by the Ural politician Anton Bakov, who sponsored the literary project and wrote a moderately serious historical and journalistic introduction to the humoresques.
