This book, which was prepared by making use of archive documents, tells the story of boarding and migration and the rules that must be followed within the palace protocol. He conveys how the imperial and palace life, which we try to get to know by hearsay, took place within the framework of detailed rules. We see how important respect is in the protocol of the palace, that respect is not only verbally stated, but also in detail, such as the type of boat used, the number of oars, its color and decoration. I think that this study, which was prepared on the basis of visual documents belonging to the period as well as written documents, will fill an important gap in Istanbul life for a while.
