The compilation comprises several essays by various authors presenting prominent figures of the Bulgarian National Revival Period (18th-19th century), including revolutionaries, clerics, intellectuals and merchants. Partenii Zografski, Hristo Kovachev, Petar Protich and Kiriak Vasily are among the distinguished individuals discussed in the essays. There is also an essay titled "Lefter Voivoda: The Robin Hood of Asia Minor.
