White Water. This is the poetic name of a desolate village hidden in the shadow of the border mountains, where crowds of pilgrims once came to ask for help at the miraculous statue of the Virgin Mary. This is where Lena Lagner arrives a few centuries later to hide from her past, which has brought her to the brink of suicide. Instead of a monastery with a large religious community, however, she finds only a few nuns, led by the peculiar nun Evarista.
