The monograph presents the results of a comprehensive study of church-institutional transformations of Ukrainian Orthodoxy during the Second World War. On the basis of a combination of ecclesial and secular approaches the development of the Ukrainian national-church movement in the Governor General during 1939–1944 was analyzed, the circumstances of the institutionalization of the Autonomous Orthodox Church were investigated, the factors and consequences of the formation and activity of the Ukrainian Autocephalous Orthodox Church of the formation of 1942 were clarified.
