Readers of this book are invited to take a journey through the pages of history of four ancient cities of the Vologda region: Belozersk, Vologda, Totma, Veliky Ustyug. Considering their trade relations with the cities of Northern Europe in the Middle Ages, at the beginning of the 21st century these cities were accepted into the Hanseatic League of modern times, and a little later they entered the newly formed inter-municipal association - the Union of Russian Hanseatic Cities. This book will help to get acquainted in the most general terms with the rich history and historical and cultural heritage of the ancient Vologda cities.
