The educational and methodical complex includes a theoretical course and practical exercises. "Belarusian onomastics" is a discipline for choosing a cycle of special training disciplines. In the course of mastering the discipline, students (undergraduates) must gain knowledge about the structural-semantic and functional-communicative specifics of an extremely important part of the vocabulary of the language - onomastic vocabulary. At present, onomastic issues are not considered in the basic courses of the linguistic profile of the first level of education, despite the fact that onomastics is an important part of modern philological culture. The presence of systematized knowledge in the field of onomastics is an essential assessment of qualifications for undergraduates who are professionals in modern socio-linguistic practice and the practice of philological research. As onomastics has a clear interdisciplinary character (related to history, ethnography, folklore) and accumulates information in other disciplines ("Dialectology", "History of the Belarusian language", "Modern Belarusian language"), its mastering will contribute to the formation of a high level of sociolinguistic linguistics. and will promote in-depth scientific and theoretical training of specialists both for further training (in postgraduate studies) and for teaching activities.
