In 2017, the ethnographic explanatory dictionary authored by ethnographer Simon Boris was published in the weekly Nasha Slova. In November, the author published a separate book "Belarusian Ethnographic Explanatory Dictionary" at his own expense. According to Simon Boris, that dictionary has been significantly supplemented. It was compiled by the author on the basis of dialect records collected by him while working at the Belarusian State Museum of Folk Architecture and Life, studying the life of peasants of the XIX and XX centuries, ethnographic books and explanatory dictionaries. For contemporaries, especially for those who live in cities, many words from this dictionary will be completely incomprehensible. Therefore, after the dialect word, the Russian equivalent of this concept is written in italics in parentheses. Some terms of material and spiritual culture are illustrated with photographs or drawings. About 3600 concepts are printed in the dictionary. It will be very appropriate for museum staff, scientists and teachers at the school.
