The book deals with Slovene composers and their ballet works, based on available material in various publications and documents, and in some cases also on the basis of personal testimonials. A short introductory review of the beginnings of ballet art and dance beginnings on Slovene stage until the establishment of the first The ballet ensemble in Ljubljana is followed by a detailed description of the operas by Slovenian composers, from the first Slovene ballet, the Mozart Josip Ipavec from 1900 to the latest ballet compositions. From the beginning of the 20th century, 93 feature-length or shorter ballet compositions were written by 41 Slovene composers. The lists of Slovene ballet composers with their works, a list of script writers, a guide with all the details about the performances of each individual ballet work, thoughts about the profession of a ballet dancer, etc. are added to the book.
