The monograph examines the process of the author's self-awareness in the Belarusian writing of the Renaissance and Baroque eras, when there was a complex transition from the medieval principles of creativity to new forms of artistic self-expression. The research is based on the rich multilingual literary material of the XVI–XVII centuries, represented by various genres (preface, akathist, chronicle, poem, diary, travel description) and authors (F. Skarina, A. Rymsha, M. Husovsky, F. Yevlashovsky, I Tsadrovsky, M. K. Radzivil, A. S. Radzivil, T. S. Bilevich, etc.).
Addressed to literary scholars and anyone interested in the culture and history of Belarus in the Renaissance and Baroque eras.
