The author wrote about his travels across the Yamal land as part of expeditions to Khadytu, Bely Island and Yuribey. The narrative describes both scientific observations and the history of individual periods in the development of the Arctic region. The edition is illustrated with rare photographs. Sergey Paskhalny is the author of over 250 scientific publications, including the monographs “Birds of Anthropogenic Habitats of the Yamal Peninsula and Adjacent Territories”, “Birds of the Polar Urals”, “Mammals of the Polar Urals” and “North, Birds, People”. His articles were included in the publication "Yamal: Encyclopedia of the Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Okrug" and the "Red Book" of the Autonomous Okrug.
