The author is the leading researcher of the museum, a member of the Writers' Union of Russia, Honored Worker of Culture of the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug. This album is dedicated to the wedding ceremony of the Ob Ugrians - its pre-wedding, wedding and post-wedding cycles. There was no single marriage ceremony, and for the first time a popular science publication presents to its readers the widest palette of this colorful event in different ethno-territorial groups of Khanty and Mansi, highlighting common features and emphasizing originality. All episodes of both premarital actions, and the marriage ceremony, and subsequent family life are presented in detail: the choice of the bride and groom, matchmaking, kalym, dowry, wedding feasts, the first wedding night, family responsibilities of a husband and wife, even traditional models of adultery and divorce, which differ from those currently accepted.
