The biography of the famous Belarusian biochemist, founder of the Institute of Biochemistry of the Academy of Sciences of the Belarusian SSR, Academician Yuri Ostrovsky, is written in the current tradition of the historical-biographical genre. To recreate reality, the author uses not only archival information and newspaper publications, diary notes and oral memories, but also photographs, personal belongings, visits to the scene of events.
