The book by the famous literary critic N.A. Bogomolov, the author of numerous studies on the history of literature, includes works written in different years. The book is divided into three sections. The first deals with general issues of Russian literature of the late XIXth - early XXth centuries. It also includes memories by M.L. Gasparov and V.N. Toporov.
