Innocent of Balt is a great luminary of the 20th century. A miracle worker and a Solovki prisoner, a martyr, shot and stabbed with a bayonet several times, he was resurrected again and again, preaching repentance and the coming kingdom of the Holy Spirit. Hardened villains were afraid of him. Firing squads ran away from his gaze and summer came in the middle of winter. Alive, in a transformed body, he ascended to heaven on a winged fiery chariot.
