The collective monograph for the first time publishes materials of field research of the ancient settlement Varvarovka I in 1938–1939,
located within the boundaries of the modern city of Nikolaev. The work reconstructs the main stages of the history of the monument’s
investigations. Scientific reconstruction of archaeological landscape is offered. The place of Varvarovka settlement in the circle of synchronous monuments is clarified.
The publication is intended for archaeologists, historians, specialists in the history of science and all those interested in the ancient history of the Northern Black Sea region.
