In the edition the state anthems of Russia are shown through the prism of Orthodox traditions. This foreshortening allows to evince its religious status and to identify it links with Christian prayer singing, to trace the inner evolution of genre, to determine its place in lives of the Russian people. Anthem-prayers reflect spiritual state of a country, highlight religious face of its rulers, heroic deeds and feats of the Russian people. While analyzing the anthems, new aspects of their creators' talents (composers and poets) have been discovered.
