The text of the novel “Anna Karenina” by Lev Tolstoy is for the first time reproduced along with the cycle of 120 illustrations by Alexander Alexeyev (1901-1982), an outstanding artist, who had lived in emigration for the greater part of his life. The illustrations created by the artist in the 1950s were made public only in 1997 and have not been re-published since then. The book is supplied with notes, an article about the history of creation of the novel, as well as an essay devoted to A.Alexeyev and his illustrations.
