The monograph is devoted to the peculiarities of the functional and semantic category of modality in the process of translating Anglo-American works of art from English into Tatar. The first chapter gives a general description of the category of modality from the point of view of the English and Tatar languages, describes the historical chronology of the development of research on this category.
