The work introduces into a scientific use a number of newly discovered sources. The church seals of Kiev region, Podillya and Volyn are studied in the book. The image and inscriptions on Roman Catholic seals are clarified. Complicated relationships between church history and the form of its seals are traced. The forms, sizes, materials of seals manufacturing are characterized, the way of their affixing to the documents is also considered. Certain attention is paid to the legislative regulations, which adjusted the use of the religious seals.
