The aim of the monograph is to investigate the networks of alternative religiosity in the late Soviet period in Lithuania, the nature of community and the practices of community construction. Based on case studies of several religious groups operating in Lithuania in the late Soviet period (modern pagans, neo-shamans, Baha'is, Krishnas, followers of Eastern religions), the aim is to analyze the problematics of community concepts and religious communities emerging in social and humanitarian scientific research, the forms of these communities in the context of the modernization of society and the socio-cultural situation; to conduct an analysis of the social networks of alternative religiosity in Lithuania in the late Soviet period and to determine their nature and characteristics, cultural and geographical scope, the most important actors, groups and connections between them; to analyze alternative religiosity communities as network communities and reveal their specifics; to analyze the practices of alternative religiosity community in Lithuania in the late Soviet period; to reveal the specifics of the development of alternative religious communities and networks in the context of Soviet modernization, comparing them with the development processes of religious life in Western society.
